Luis C. Moll will be featured at a symposium celebrating the 10th anniversary of the UW鈥檚 Center for Multicultural Education. The event will be on Friday, Oct. 25 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Walker-Ames Room, Kane Hall.
The symposium, The Development of Biliteracy in Children: The Mediating Role of Ideologies, will highlight Moll鈥檚 91自拍 on literacy and bilingual learning.
Moll is a professor in the department of language, reading and culture at the University of Arizona. His 91自拍 focuses on sociocultural approaches to child development and education, literacy and bilingual learning. His work has shown how low-income Mexican-American families鈥� strategies for survival against poverty and discrimination can be used to assist students鈥� social and cognitive development.
