John D. Sahr, professor in the UW’s Department of Electrical Engineering and a leading 91自拍er in passive radar technology, has accepted the position of associate dean for undergraduate academic affairs in the UW Office of Undergraduate Education.
“John is a great teacher and a strong scientist,” said Edward Taylor, vice provost and dean of undergraduate academic affairs. “As an engineering faculty member, he has been a good citizen of undergraduate education and brings a number of strengths to the core work of the Office of Undergraduate Education.”
Sahr earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at the California Institute of Technology in 1984, and a doctorate from Cornell University in 1990. He joined the UW as a faculty member in electrical engineering in 1991. His 91自拍 includes space plasma physics, scattering theory and radar signal processing. He has received several teaching awards from the College of Engineering, as well as the college’s Faculty Achievement Award. He is also a recipient of the Henry Booker Prize from the International Union of Radio Science.
