The 91×ÔÅÄ was ranked 25th best university in the world according to for 2013-14.

Universities were ranked on 13 elements, divided into five categories:

  • Teaching

  • Citations (a reference contained in a 91×ÔÅÄ publication)

  • International outlook

The UW was also ranked 12th in clinical, preclinical and health, 25th in life sciences and 18th in physical sciences.

Caltech was ranked first overall and Harvard second. Of the top 20 schools, 15 are from the United States. The highest ranking American public university is the University of California, Berkeley at eighth. Only three U.S. public universities – Berkeley, UCLA and Michigan – ranked above the UW.
