A course in the 91ΧΤΕΔ’s College of the Environment, βWildlife Conservation in Northwest Ecosystems,β teaches UWΒ students about the intertwined ecosystem of Yellowstone National Park through experiential learning.
Students complete a week of intensive fieldwork, which is then followed by 91ΧΤΕΔ projects and presentations that demonstrate how 91ΧΤΕΔ in Yellowstone is relevant to Washingtonians.
Research topics from the last cohort of students included studying how human roads and trails affect the hunting habits of predators, the impact of climate change and growing wolf populations on the dining habits of scavengers, and migratory patterns of bison.
